NEET‑UG COUNSELLING PROCESS 2025;This counselling covers: - 15% All‑India Quota (AIQ) MBBS/BDS seats
- 100% seats in Central Institutes (AIIMS, JIPMER), Deemed Universities, DU, BHU, AMU, ESIC, AFMC, Jamia, IP quota (ESIC), etc.
State‑level (85%) seats and private/medical institutes are managed by their respective state authorities.
1. ↪️ Who conducts it?
Seat allocation and online counselling are managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under DGHS, Ministry of Health. MCC is responsible for AIQ, Deemed, Central, ESIC, AFMC, DU, BHU, AMU, AIIMS, JIPMER, etc.
State Counselling Authorities handle 85% state quota and private college admissions.
2. Key Dates – 2025 Counselling (MCC – All India / Central / Deemed Rounds)

Registration & Payment: 21–28 July 2025 (Payment cutoff 3 PM)
Choice Filling & Locking: 22–28 July 2025, locking by 11:55 PM (auto-lock 28th)
Seat Allotment Processing: 29–30 July 2025
Round 1 Provisional Result: 31 July 2025
Reporting & Joining: 1–7 August 2025 (Docs verification 6–8 Aug)

Counselling occurs across four rounds (3 + Stray Vacancy).
All days—including weekends and public holidays—are working days for counselling-related processes.
3. Seat Matrix & Availability
AIQ Round 1 Seat Matrix published 23 July 2025, including:
MBBS/BDS seats across government, central, deemed, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC
Total ~ 1.18 lakh MBBS seats; 780 medical colleges (775 active this year)
Only 775 colleges participating; 9 colleges dropped this year
State-wise seat matrices also available via state quotas.
4. Eligibility & Cut‑offs
Only NEET‑UG 2025 qualified candidates (scorecards declared 14 June 2025) are eligible.
Cut‑off criteria (percentile):
UR – 50th, UR‑PH – 45th, SC/ST/OBC – 40th
5. Fees & Refund Rules (per Round)

Lower of the two registration fees applies if candidates register for both AIQ/Central & Deemed.
Exiting after seat allotment (without joining) leads to forfeiture of security deposit.
Joined candidates: deposit adjusted toward tuition; exit forfeits deposit and bars further rounds.
6. Step-wise Counselling Guide
New Registration: On mcc.nic.in, enter NEET roll no., DOB, etc., accept terms, and get credentials.
Personal & Academic Details: Fill in and verify personal info; no edits afterward.
Payment: Pay both registration fee and security deposit online.
Choice Filling: Add, reorder, lock choices; save frequently.
Lock Choices: Must lock by the deadline. Unlocked lists auto-lock.
Print Filled Choices: For records.
Seat Allotment: Check result; download allotment letter.
Reporting: Report to the allotted institute with original docs.
7. Documents Required
Admit Card & Scorecard (NEET‑UG 2025)
Class 10 & 12 certificates
DOB proof
Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD), as applicable
Domicile / NRI certificate (if needed)
ID proof (Aadhar, Passport, DL)
8 passport-size photos
Seat Allotment Letter
For AIIMS, Deemed, ESIC, etc. – any institutional-specific forms
8. Institution‑specific & Special Seat Notes
AFMC Pune: Additional screening; apply separately on AFMC portal.
Deemed Universities: May have minor minority/NRI reservation; check individual university norms.
AIIMS / JIPMER: 100% seats via MCC; no domicile criteria required.
J&K Candidates: AIQ participation depends on state opting in.
9. Counselling for State & Private Colleges
85% state quota seats: Handled independently by state authorities—e.g., Maharashtra counselling in July.
For DU, BHU, AMU: Covered under MCC’s Central University counselling for 100% of their seats.
10. Reservation as per Govt Norms
Reservation across AIQ and Central seats:
OBC – 27%
SC – 15%
ST – 7.5%
PwBD (Horizontally) – 5%
EWS – as per central policy
